ATTENDANCE- One of the most important thing you can do to insure your
child succeeds in school is to make sure he/she is in school ON TIME.
When a student is absent, a phone call or note is required. Excessive
tardies/check outs mean your child is missing key instruction. THERE ARE
NO CHECK-OUTS AFTER 1:45 P.M. WITHOUT A NOTE AND WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL
FROM THE PRINCIPAL.
LUNCH- You may eat lunch with your child, but you must sign
in at the office. If you have brought food from a restaurant with their
logo, you will be given a paper bag in which to place it. Federal
guidelines prohibit “outside” food from being eaten in the cafeteria
during lunch times
VISITING TEACHERS/CLASSROOMS- Teacher are responsible for all
of the children under their care. Please do not ask to drop in for a
conference. If you must speak to a teacher and it is not his/her
planning time, a principal will arrange for someone to cover the class.
If you want to observe a class, it must be scheduled with the teacher
and approved by the principal. ALL VISITORS MUST SIGN IN AND RECEIVE A
BADGE.
BUSES- The Transportation Department (799-6451) schedules all
bus routes. However, please remember that riding the bus is a
privilege, not a right. Speak to your child of the importance of
demonstrating good bus behavior.
DISMISSAL- Only buses may enter the bus loop. Once they have
loaded and exited, the vans from various after-school programs enter the
loop.
CARS- Circle the parking lot. It is very important that each
car pull all the way to the curb at the top of the loop. As cars pull
out, the next ones in line must pull all of the way to the top. By doing
this, the line moves more quickly. Do not park and call your children
to the car. It is not safe for them to dart across the traffic.
IF YOU CHANGE HOW YOUR CHILD IS GETTING HOME, WE MUST HAVE A
NOTE SIGNED BY YOU. WE CANNOT ACCEPT A PHONE CALL. WITHOUT A NOTE,
WE WILL SEND YOUR CHILD HOME THE WAY YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY ARRANGED.
